It never gets old. I love life.

This morning, I was feeling compelled to go face the stairs again. As it so often is down here, the sky was frickin wow on the way downtown. Ya know, I often comment about how my camera, even though it is 10mp and kigass, fails to capture the awesome spectacle that is the world around us. Well, supm I noticed this morning, it also fails to capture my dirty arse windshield, which is ooook.
I parked in front of the Magnolia Building, which is where that cafe is on the lake side and the place where they do all the preparatory staging for the weddings they do ov'ar in the Hollis Garden. I like to park over here because it is in a nice equidistant spot between the stairs and the bafroom.
The entrance to the Hollis Garden ov'ar. A lot of these pictures are likely redundant or will be soon, but the experience never gets old. I am thankful for every opportunity to experience these places.
The path on down to the lake is walled on that side by huge Magnolia trees with their huge sweet smelling flowers.
Damn, it's so beautiful today. There are peeps down'ar sitting on the grass.
There's my pee pee spot. Rhianna loves that building because of its beautifulness. It is pretty sweet. Its like three shades of green stucco.
Aaaah, the huge grass steps that lead down to the lake. I plan to come back here and sit a spell, as they say in the South. However, first I must go see the stairs.
Wow, can't help but have a 'king of the mountain' feeling. It is really breathtaking up here. After a few laps up and down...damn, the smell of somebuddy grillin is wafting through the porch. I think I need to go meet some neighbors. hehe. Anyway, it was quite nice. I got a nice pump and then it was time to go visit the lil boys room before a bit o' reading.
Aaaah, the grass and, no, that's not my belly, it's my ribcage. My belly is less than the four-pack I usedta have, but it is at least flat.
I tried leaning back to look up at the amazing sky, but I could only take this shot before uprighting myself again. I was still too hot and sweaty, so the grass just made me itchy like crazy. That momentary picture time was worth it, though, wow.
I was gonna go over to the other lake that is more conducive to just exercising than reading, but I remembered they doesn't has the bafrooms and it's too much of a walk to not has bafrooms, so I just went home and drinked a buncha water. Then, I decided to walk around the 'hood, yo. I like this neighborhood because it is so good fer walking.

I is done.

Another awesome change for the better

Ok, this one, chronologically, goes at the end, but it's a good one to start with. Thankfully, an ugly bastard can make beautiful kids anyway.
Shalane gave me the idea to put it in some rice. It was way after the fact, but I figgered what the hell. I could try it for a few hours while we go smash coins. The night before, Rhianna deposited her phone into the terlit. Fortunately, it was before she added any colorful contaminants to the nice clear water. So, being the smart girl she is, she brought the phone right to me. I turned it off and took it apart to let it dry out over night, at least. Then, we still let it dry in the rice for a while as we experienced our day's adventure. It had a wet spot in the screen later, but worked fine. When her mom came to get them today, it had dried completely and had only a couple minor spots on the screen.
We laid our offering on the tracks for the smush god.
Hmm, hmm, hmm, 1:21 right? Well, the street fair thing ov'ar closes up shop at 2, so let's go on ov'ar since it's quarter til and maybe it's late self will show up in the next few.
This guy was in the process of carving some new creation. He had some pretty awesome offerings.

Ok, back over here to wait summo. hmm, hmm, hmm. Okay, I guess the train isn't coming right now. It's a good time for lunchings anyway. Let's go home and eat food, shall we? We'll come back for the one this evening.
After eating foods, we came on back to the lake, which is right by where we needsta meet the train god with our coin offerings. Rhianna was quite impressed with these big grass steps. It's my favorite place to lay back on the grass and look at the sky between reading and people watching.
When you are coming down the grass steps toward the lake, the view is breathtaking.
I hadn't taken them through the gardens over here on the edge of the lake, where they do weddings regularly. On the way to the other side with the stairs that I wanted a couple passes at, we walked through real quick. I could write an entry with 50 pictures about just the gardens. However, not right now, and prolly never, there is too much life for me to write about. It is indeed amazing, though.
Ah, the stairs, a beatiful view, indeed, to go with a bit of exercise. I was only planning to do a couple laps up and down. Neriah, sat on the grass and watched until he felt compelled to come and show me what his young motivated self could do. He lapped me quickly and then challenged me. It was just like the Tortoise and the Hare, which I continually pointed out. I also made the reference to Chip in Talladega Nights, 'the field mouse is fast, but the owl sees at night, ahahahaha'. I kept saying it.
He did the Hare thing and arrogantly flaunted his bursts of speed as I kept right behind him, slow and steady. As he started getting tired, he let me pass him a few times as he rested. His sister tried to disqualify him, but I said he wasn't quitting, it's coo, baybeh.
Man look at the speedy way he zips up and down.
It's time for the shirt to come off. I is gettin all nice and sweaty now.
I am determined to run again.
Rhianna was taking some cool pictures while waiting for us to play our man-games.
She parked behind a palm tree and took all kinds of pictures, supm like 147. I grabbed a bunch of her camera, which is why there are so many of her sweet, beautiful face, and also why there are very few of her brother. ;-)
She managed to take a lot of self-portraits.
cutie pie.
Her secret, stalker-behind-a-tree view.
Damn, she's frickin beautiful.
:-)
tired, but slow and steady.
beautiful.
Yeah, he's winded as I mock him and harass him. ;-)
hehe.
The ring, Emily got for here while we were up at the beach bum paradise. It's a shame that our awesomeness couldn't be more complementary.
I can see up yer nose.
It's easy to see what would cause a father's rage.
I didn't just go one step beyond him after he quit. I went ahead and did a full lap to make a decisive victory. I was tired, sho nuff, but I would have to be crawling and bleeding before I quit and let my son win. I have a drill sergeant to thank for that, quitting is not an option. It's good because I want him to learn that, well except against his dad. ;-) I pointed this out to him, referencing what I have always said, 'I have seen cold on the ship that would make an eskimo cry.' This time, I said, 'I have seen days that would make Arnold Schwarzenegger cry'. That was what finally did him in. He got a clearer picture that I would never quit. So, just in time, my phone alarmed train god time about five minutes ago.
We had plenty of time to line up our coins, but didn't hafta wait too long. It was very much on time this time.

It has yet to be less than awe-inspiring. Standing next to a train rolling by is an awesome spectacle of force and mass.
One of each, wow.

Thank God for beer

Hey, supm dudn't look right about that seat. A while back, when it was still Emily's car, the passenger seat quit leaning back. I was over at Shalane's the other day doing laundry and got a wild hair. I just pulled the seat out real quick. Saturns are awesome that way, they are so easy to work on. Two bolts, unhook the front and bam, easy deal. So, I fixed it, yay.
I went by the Saturn dealership the other day to get a brochure, a picture for me to dream about. I was leaving and I whipped it around and decided to test drive this one, my new dream car. I was thinking, for years now, that I wanted an Acura TL. They are such an amazing car. We went and looked at them back before the ex-wife-creature and I bought the Pathfinder. Recently, I thought, eh, it's kinda not for me anymore, maybe a TSX. That seemed more ideal. Then, I started thinking, wait a minute, the Saturn coupe has the suicide doors and Saturns are so easy to work on, how about a Saturn with less miles and maybe more comfortable? So, I found it, not even looking. This one is a 3-series, so bigger engine, same sunroof and stereo, but more comfortable leather seats and less miles. It is blue, also, which tells me it is clearly my car. The one I have now is red, which I have grown to love, but blue just says it is mine.
One of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen.
The other day I decided to put on some 'real' shoes and walk around Lake Mirror and use the stairs over there to help strengthen my leg muscles and make me able to run again.

As I walked around the lake, I was breathtooked by the awesomeness of the sky. I also looked into the shallow water and saw a turtle that had the biggest head I've ever seen, too cool. Some big arse fish, too. I dunno, Carp or supm.
The stairs. I went up and down a dozen or so times. I even ran, with the assistance of the rail. Damn, it felt good. I got nice and sweaty.
Yesterday, I was reading an old Men's Health, one with Jason Statham, he's the man, and I saw a recipe for something called Three Amigos Chili. I felt compelled to make it today. I went to get just a couple cans o' beans and needed some beer anyway...
It turned out really good. I haven't cooked much in the past couple years. It was nice for it to turn out so nice. It was a nice complement to my one beer. Speaking of which, I believe I am going to take a lap 'round the 'hood before I has another one beer.
